Amendments to Retail Cannabis Store Handbook

Cannabis Bulletin

May 10, 2024

This bulletin is to advise all licensed cannabis retailers of amendments to the Retail Cannabis Store Handbook (RCSH).

Effective immediately, the following sections have been updated:

a) Section 3.3 - Physical Security:

Alternative construction methods to secure cannabis rooms may be approved by AGLC. The recommended specifications for the room remain unchanged.

b) Section 4.7 - Activities in Retail Cannabis Stores:

Activities in a retail cannabis store shall be related to the business. Prohibiting the simulated act of mixing cannabis has been deleted.

c) Section 4.8 - Sensory Display Containers:

Samples obtained from cannabis representatives may be used in the display containers. In addition, the two gram maximum limit for each container has been deleted. Also, the requirement to keep a sensory display log recording specific information has been replaced by maintaining a record of the cannabis used in the display containers.

The amended RCSH is available on AGLC’s website at aglc.ca. Please familiarize yourself with the new policies and ensure staff are notified of these changes.
