As of February 22, 2024, AGLC will no longer register alcohol containers with the BCMB on behalf of the liquor agencies. Agencies and suppliers play an important part in Alberta's liquor industry. As private businesses they supply and import the thousands of liquor products available for sale, on a consignment basis, with AGLC.

What is a liquor supplier?

A liquor supplier is someone who makes or distributes liquor.

What is a liquor agency?

In Alberta, liquor agencies represent liquor suppliers. They import and market the supplier's liquor.

To confirm the representation, an agency must sign and submit a form called a "Letter of Understanding".

The supplier must  sign and submit a form called a "Letter of Authorization".
