Alberta joins other Canadian provinces to establish legal, regulated online gambling.
St. Albert… After a thorough Request for Proposal process, AGLC has entered into an agreement with NeoPollard Interactive to build and maintain Alberta’s legal online gambling platform.
The online platform will provide a secure, age-controlled environment that promotes healthy gambling behaviour and fully integrates AGLC’s GameSense responsible gambling program.
NeoPollard Interactive is a global company with offices in Canada, Israel and the United States. The company provides interactive lottery solutions in Virginia, New Hampshire, Michigan and North Carolina.
For nearly 25 years, AGLC has been a leader in the management of Alberta’s gaming industry, which brings benefits to all Albertans and our communities. We are excited to move forward with NeoPollard to offer a dynamic entertainment option that brings Alberta in line with other Canadian provinces that deliver regulated online gambling sites.

A negotiated Request for Proposal for an online gambling platform provider was posted to Alberta Purchasing Connection in January 2019 and closed in March 2019. In early 2020, AGLC and NeoPollard Interactive entered into a seven year agreement, with an extension of up to 12 years possible.
The new platform will be open to Albertans who are over the age of 18 and physically located within the province’s borders. In addition to best-in-class responsible gambling features, the new platform will eventually contain:
- A suite of casino style games and live table games, full sportsbook, poker, bingo and lottery.
- The ability for Winner’s Edge members to earn points.
- World class player experience and cross-promotion with existing licensed gaming venues.
AGLC is mandated to ensure the gaming industry is carefully managed so it can maximize the benefits to Albertans. In 2018-19, over $1.4 billion in net gaming income was generated for the General Revenue Fund, which is used to support the province’s programs and services that Albertans rely on every day.
