After a thorough procurement process, OnX Enterprise Solutions was chosen to develop the online cannabis sales platform, which will be run by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC).
The creation of an entirely new industry, such as online cannabis sales, is an enormous task with a lot of moving pieces. It was imperative that any potential solution be backed by a company with vast experience and a solid reputation.

A Negotiated Request for Proposal for an online sales solution provider was posted to Alberta Purchasing Connection on February 1 and closed February 12. The initial term of the contract will be for three years, with an option to extend for three additional terms of up to two years each and one final year term to provide services – for a total of 10 years.
AGLC is responsible for regulating private retail cannabis, the distribution of cannabis and operation of the online cannabis store on behalf of the Alberta government.
